Wind – Class 9 English Beehive
Poet: Subramania Bharati
Translated by: A.K. Ramanujan
Summary (English)
The poem "Wind" describes the destructive as well as constructive power of the wind. The poet says that the wind breaks weak houses, shutters, doors and windows. It scatters papers and destroys anything that is weak and fragile.
However, the poet also conveys an important message. Instead of blaming the wind, people should make themselves strong enough to face challenges. Just as the wind tests the strength of things, difficulties in life test human beings.
The poem teaches us to be mentally and physically strong so that we can overcome hardships and become successful in life.
